Neither does a Unicender, but to be honest it's not that good in Ddrt unless you have it on a long tether!🙊

It does. If you leave the RW on after switching to DdRT it will be aplying friction to the rope making the system 'stiffer' to use.

 

HH carries on acting as normal.

 

If I ever top tie and go to retrieve my line I use a cambium/friction saver to come down Ddrt, I have used the technique that Ewan has said about but I find there is no problem what's so ever leaving the wrench engaged, its actually better for the hitch! Yes it does apply more friction in the system but hardly noticeable when using a pulley in the friction saver

Good point Adam but the question was what device best suits a climber who wants to be able to climb DdRT or SRWP whilst in the tree. The HH works perfectly in both modes while the RW has to be removed from the line in order to work climb on the HC system.

 

I realise it's not a big issue but if I regularly switched from double to single line during a job I'd want the easiest solution, HH is best suited to this.
