well had a visit today, to my self build site from local police community support officer, she wasn't interested in my concerns about people on the site at night however she was there to talk about 20ft of hedge that she wanted me to cut back, because of complaints from parish council, ( oh and they want me to do it by end of month because of bird nesting ) The hedge is fine, in my eyes and that of my neighbours. It just bloody annoys me that these people fill there time with such bull

If its encroaching on the highway, reducing the visibility from a legitimate driveway or road junction, they are quite within their rights to ask for your cooperation. I do not understand why a uniformed officer was asked to pass on the message. A notice from the parish council is all that's required. If it is passed on to the council highways department, they can carry out the work and charge you for it, if you refuse, so it's cheaper for you just to get it done?

Ask for it in writing then find enough excuses to delay until the nesting season has started (normally considered the start of March unless you already spot birds nesting) then you can wait to do it until the nesting season is over (normally considered July but may extend due to late summer weather - just check).
