Was having a nose around a training ground for racehorses yesterday looking at the fung when among others this took the eye.

I wondered whether it would have pushed the horse shoe up if it had fruited an inch or so nearer to the metal?

I guess it would have. Shame, as it would have made a great image.

It would, Agaricus bitorquis is capable of breaking through tarmac and surfacing with asphalt on top and A. geesterani can lift big lumps of soil or heavy paving stones.

I guess it's also possible that it already had lifted it then slipped off.

Came across an exotic Oak (Q. marilandica - Black Jack Oak) at work with the not unusual A. muscaria on the roots. Also had a few unId'd bolete types around the roots.
