Have you published any books David. A field guide would be great.
Your very inspiring sometimes.

Done bits and pieces, but not considered a whole book on me tod, that's a fairly big undertaking.

I did contribute most of the in situe fruit body images to the Arb Associations Fungi on Trees - An Arborists field guide, helped Steve put together the Arbtalk Fungi App and have written a few articles on fungi and decay.

Oddly enough I was just literally asked today to help put together a new field guide, but imagine that will be a while till it becomes available. I sometimes even inspire myself 9_9

Also a lonely wig for m'pot...
And some small capped Armillaria sp? I wonder if it was a bit dry and windy preventing full cap opening, which may explain the odd stem 'scales' - which were actually the stipe surface shrinking and cracking /lifting...

I've not eaten the wig before, always been put off when it goes all inky, what they like?

Don't think they are really scales on the stem of the Armillaria's, more just expansion cracking of the stem fibres.

See this fairly regularly.IMG_6669.thumb.jpg.475a79b2403324d4c579a745ef495a2b.jpg
