I have a double cab D40 Navara which pulls like a train, its comfortable even on motorways and the back seat folds into the bulkhead so you have a flat space to put your tools and secure them. It is also very good on fuel at about 31mpg and i am going to look at having it chipped to see if this can be improved more

what do you reckon folk, im tempted to chop in my navara d22 for a discovery 2. am I mad or would it be a good decision. my navara has cost around 3 grand last year in and out of the garage- not great for getting out to jobs when i need to!

 

maybe I watch too much time team, but I do love them. obviously I'd have no choice but to drag round a trailer with me most of the time, instead of the d22.

 

had a disco td300 now a navara apart from engine going bang. i know which one i rather have. the navara. got space in pick up for all your gear without the stink in cab. can load up the pick up can not with disco. better on fuel. the navara wins hands down with me.

chipped speak to dave billcar engineering shrewsbury do a good one for 4x4,s improves grunt less power needed so better mpg

for the age you are looking at I wouldnt even entertain jap crap- you will probably have the same issues as a disco of the same age, but instead of a recon transfer box being £600 fitted, it will be more than £2k fitted.......the jap stuff is very reliable up to a point, but in heavy heavy abusive work, they are no more reliable than the green oval, and nowhere near as tough in my experience of owning both. We all know nick hates the green oval BTW hahaha
