One kN is equivalent to to a static load of 100 kg. Therefore 22kN is equivalent to a static load of 2.2 tonnes.

The difference is that a kilogramme is measurement of mass, whereas a kilonewton is a measurement of force.

Therefore if you drop a 1 kg weight, it exerts more than 1 kN of force on impact, even though its mass remains the same.

:001_rolleyes:

1000N = 1KN = 98.0665KG

e.g. 22KN = 2157.463KG (2157.463KGF) = 2.157463 Tonnes

10kg would drop ~9.80665m meters in ~1 second from rest

~9.80665m/sec = ~588.399m/min = ~35303.94m/hour or ~35.30394kph = ~21.9279mph

at 9.80665m drop the force of 10kg would be ~480.4595798J, if it was to stop in 1cm it would impart a force of ~4.8045 tonnes.

Bleedin hell nearly five tonne of force :scared1:

How did you get the 4.8045 tonne from the 10kg:confused1:
