Climbing Set ups

The exciting part is that the world is currently your oyster and you could go in any direction, just try as many systems as you can.

The other thing to bear in mind is cross system compatibility.

For instance, a hitch climber pulley with a decent eye to eye cord and pantin can convert from ddrt to srt with the addition of and ascender and friction sharing device.

Make sure you do plenty of research and try some systems and I'm sure you'll find something you like.

I climb on a multi saver, 11mm aeris, 75cm 8mm beeline VT & hc pulley and I love it, very happy with it, but everyone is different. Next step for me is to try srt with a rope wrench and pantin into my existing system....

I'd think about a ZK2 & Hitch Climber or a Hitch Hiker. Both can be used as an SRT or DRT system.

A friction saver is essential and get a Pulleysaver or Ropeguide rather than a cheap one because it saves you energy.

A Petzl Pantin can be used with any system and is a superb labour saving device.

A throw line with Cube and a Bigshot will also save you loads of time and energy. They may seem expensive but the labour saved is immeasurable.

if i was kitting myself out today ( with a decent budget of course) id get---

Treemotion

Cinch with a dynamic lanyard.

adjustable cambium saver

HC+hitch cord

45m rope + 30m rope Blue Tongue/Arrow Frog

a load of carabiners+1 revolver

DMM Pinto

Teufelberger multisling

ISC zk 2

Kong Futura hand ascender

Petzl pantin

spare hitch cord.

i think that lot would allow for most DbRT and SRT set ups to be run pretty fluidly.

I like the way you think Drew:cool:you have a clear understanding of how you want to climb and what you want to use in order to do it....with the key word being "fluidity"... A lot of new climbers could learn a lot from that....we have so many new innovations in tree climbing...they are there to be used......SO USE EM!:):):)
