Wood burner flue liner

Recommended Posts

There was a glow worm gas fired back boiler fitted. The roof had a stack which stood 2 feet above the ridge. Seems odd as other houses all have different pipe even though they are the same age and style! I think I will get someone in to look as Im no expert! Definitely looks to be the same construction as far up as I can see and from loft it looks the same. Would be perfect if it was suitable. How do you sweep them? Do you need an access hole?

Usually stoves are swept by removing the firebricks and the plate that sits on top of them then swept through the stove. The alternative is a door in the flue pipe above the stove but gaskits tend to fail after a couple of sweeps so have a spare if you go that way,

I would get a local guy in, either an experienced HETAS engineer or the building inspector.

Just noticed you are in Scotland, the building regs I am talking about apply in England, not sure if they apply up with you but I would think so.
