To go outside now in the cold and dark to cut and split some wood. Don't know why but the idea for some reason is appealing. Or do I need to get a life....

Sounds to me like you have your life sorted out, go get splitting. They wont split themselves.

Well that kept me out of mischief for a little while. Definitely more productive in daylight though!! 3 tonne/builders/you know the ones I mean filled with a mix of ash and rowan.

 

Got another pile twice the size again to do next then a load of sycamore.

 

Oh and I like my splitter, just under a tenner from the hardware store and it's ace!

 

Then I just need to turn unseasoned logs into hard cash, easier now than it used to be.
