It must be nice to have the continuity, and resources, to actively manage your tree population. Our LA undertook the iTree survey last year, can't remember all the details but it showed that it was a significant asset. A few months later I heard that the tree team were warned that they'd probably be redundant by this Easter!

 

The proposed budget, for external contractors to replace them, probably wouldn't cover emergency works that have been necessary in the last week. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Yeah, we know we are in a relatively privileged position and I see the frustrations and general depressed state with LA's across the country.

 

Sad state of affairs.

Large alley of Lime tree to repollard.  The trees were planted circa 1750 and have been managed as pollards since the .

 

1 guy in Mewp doing leaders over the avenue and 2 to 3 climbers.  All had to be done with handsaws.

 

2 days to complete.
