business costs

Good thread!

I think, where you work often makes the biggest impact on profit.

As long as there are a lot cheaper guys out there you may struggle to rely on quality over quantity.

I think also that on one hand the industry is becoming more aware of legislation and that costs us a lot of money, but the customer is unaware of what they are getting for their money, hence the guys winging it will always have the upper hand.

We have is the aa flying our flag and things are changing slowly but the goverment will pussy foot around the black market and not enforce propper laws as this will increase other forms of crime.

So our costs keep rising but not in a way most customers can afford, hence smaller market place, increase costs, something has to give and it usually is the bosses wage.

Great thread!

This is what we are constantly training to explain to people when they laugh at Aspen being that much more expensive than using regular pump fuel and mixing It themselves with oil.

The average fuel usage per tree worker (excluding milling) is around 3 litres per day. That’s 0.375L per hour. Based on this the difference would only be around 45p per hour more expensive if a company chose to supply their workers with Aspen 2 compared to regular petrol. Add this to the £20+VAT cost per hour of the average worker and suddenly it seems like a much smaller increase in costs.

One of the biggest costs is having workers wasting time and being unproductive. If you have the space for storage, then we can deliver a small sized pallet (270L) of Aspen with free of charge delivery. This means you can quickly pick up the correct amount of fuel at the start of the day and be on your way to the job very quickly, no need to spend time mixing oil with the potential risk of damaging machines.

Warning: users of aspen fuel report effects such as feeling better at work, being less tired and having fewer days off work.

p.s we have just started talks with a politician who thinks they may be able to help get the road fuel duty removed on Aspen which would make it up to 57.95p per litre cheaper! We are very excited about this will keep you posted. :thumbup1:

Lets hope the MP can get that sorted, I am optimistic about the result.;)

Funnily or coincidentally I was thinking almost exactly the same thing. In the great scheme of £20 per man hour what extra cost is aspen. It puts it into perspective.

There must be other luxuries we could afford now looking into the whole costs issue.

certainly- doesn't pay to use old knackered kit that plays up constantly.

Definately pays to keep all kit serviced.

Avoid traffic jams.

45p per hour multiplied by 7 hour day = bacon and sausage butty in my belly every morning from the local butchers!!

45p per hour soon comes to £60 per month

Look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves

Or, on the other hand, the use of Aspen may increase your productivity. Many users have found that they tire less quickly, consequently working better towards the end of the day.

Just suppose you only achieved a meagre 15 minutes a day productivity. At just £20 per hour charge out rate this is £5.00 per day.

£5.00 per day soon becomes £100 per month, allowing you an extra bacon butty each day courtesy of using Aspen.

Two sides to every penny.
