I use silverstreak running through a cinch it's great and pretty cheap rope.

Thats one answer I was looking for, 10mm OP works on it, 8mm is not so clever.

 

I always prefer a pulley/friction hitch system on my kit.

config's are the knowledge i'm after.

 

as some cord is good with some, but does'nt work well on others.

 

would be good to have a knowledge base on it.

 

knowledge is the key to everything so is experience. From my experience the lanyard kit in my previous post works a treat with a Distel hitch and pulley the only modification i did was i made the hitch cord shorter so i could eliminate most of the slack. but i think i was just being picky. read the spec on the link in the previous post for the rope combinations.

true, the spec on the post is standard, looking for smaller diameter setups, using pulleys/hitchclimber/pintos'/ and friction hitches.
