I recently purchased a gri gri as a lanyard positioner and I think it's great. At first I was concerned that maybe you can't lengthen under load. But after testing I've found you can. Also it seems a lot easier to operate using the thumb to twist it to release, far easier than the kinch. I use a thimble which stays on the carabiner end for choking off and two pretzel ds, seems a good setup for now. Spliced lanyard at both ends is a real must to eliminate the ol stuck fishermans crotch disaster!

Still using the old ART rope grab? How long you had that one and was it from new and the twist version?

Have had mine bout 5 or 6 years now, I keep looking at the new ones but there's nowt wrong with my old one,it's like an old mate to me now.

Nice clean set up by the way:thumbup:
