Fungi app feedback

Recommended Posts

So, a couple of months in now.

Are people finding that they're using the app regularly to aid identification in the field or is it a resource that gets looked at randomly ?

The intention is to keep updating with new galleries (only two or three new ones so far, but this will increase in the next few weeks/months as time becomes available)

Anyone have any ongoing issues or ideas/species they would like to see considered ?

Look forward to reading peoples thoughts.

I use the app on a regular basis as a "just checking" and already twice as a real search tool.

There are two things that bug me. When I look at the photos in the database with the telephones picture viewer there are some really clear pictures there. But when I see them in the app most of the pictures look like they are out of focus.

The second 'issue' is the open database of pictures in my own picture folder. I know that it's really a non issue, but wouldn't it be better if the app would choose another folder to 'hide' it's content?

Thanks Wolter. I'll have these looked at in the next update. I wouldnt have thought the folder thing should be an issue. We did notice that the images werent as sharp on the androids as the iphones but put it down to screen quality. I hadnt noticed the difference between the images in the app and in the picture viewer.....I dont really see it on my device

App is awsome guys, would like the thumbnail pics in the lists to be a little bigger... also perhaps as most smartphones now allow for turning the phone to flip the pic horizontal for bigger view the app could be written to work the same.. like normal browsers do

That works for me. When you look at the thumbnails you just have to turn your phone. No clicking on the thumbnail needed.

Ok got that, sorry guys. Would be nice if it did it on the lists too although clicking on each one does it, having to click on it to get a good look is an inconvenience... I used to be a programmer years back and I know its a lot of work to make the whole app flip but I do prefer apps that give you the flip on all sections especially for those with smaller screens.. love the app though, what an amazing resource you guys have created.

Unfortunately we're limited on space with regards the thumbnail sizes

Understood buddy, the app is awsome. Wouldn't be without it now.

The app was great but has stopped working on my iPhone 3GS. It starts by updating 33 images then crashes out on completion.

I can't see any images in the knot guide either which I was enjoying using too.

Is it just a 3GS snag?
