A good freind of mine wants one for cutting logs etc. Anyway they both look pretty similar from what I can tell, but at my local dealer theres a £40 difference between the two for the sake of a 2 inch differance in bar size. I'm not experienced with saws at this price range so some advice will be welcome

My advice on these saws is go for a 15" 1.3mm gauge bar - with that they will work well - I have seen 18" fitted and it will struggle with this set up.

Cheers for that local shop gave me a price with 14" on the 135 and 16" on the 140 so sounds about right. What are the stihl equivalents?

The 14" will be nicer, the stihl equvalents are the MS181 & 171, they tend to use a narrower kerf chain to maintain cut speed - I personally prefer the build of the Husky as it feels a bit sturdier but many use the Stihl product and they do a good job.

 

They are all typical home owner saws and are OK for a bit of firewood/logging but will never excite you!
