I always take someone with me when im doing a display.its good to have help setting up cleaning up and to sell my stuff whilst im carving. Also to stop people entering my roped off work area.

I like to give myself an hour and a half to setup and the same to clean up and load anything I havnt sold.

you do if you want to be invited back again!! i always try to clear up as much as i can. i have two big cattle feed tubs that i load up with the smaller lumps of wood and sawdust and i throw the big lumps in the pickup. a rake and a shovle come in handy. i also clean up after myself when carving stumps in peoples gardens. so remember to factor in clean up time when you are pricing a stump carving commision.

That is something that I have never understood people not doing. You often see photos of some stunning work, yet the area around looks a real mess, which spoils everything.

Attention to detail such as that makes a massive difference.

having decided that cans of tree marker dont give a fine enough line when marking up logs i went into my local skateboarding shop which also sells spray paints and graffiti stuff and bought a new cap for my can that gives a fine line. only 25p

what do you guys keep all your stuff in. im fed up carting my saws, fule can, oil can, tool box (containing my saw maintainance kit spray marker and other bits and bobs) and a big box i carry all my PPE in.

i want something with wheels to carry every thing other than my saws in. my ideal would be the DeWalt tough system tool box trolly but its £250.

so any body got any ideas
