Has anyone ever had any experiance registering a tractor for the road where it has no v5 allready and no number plate?

Is it a pain? and something not to bother with and look at other tractors allready registered?

Cheers :)

I've never done it, but a lot of people register previously unregistered/registration lost classic vehicles (my knowledge is only of land rovers which seem to have been bought as estate vehicles and never registered). It seems it's fairly easy to do - simple form, chassis/vin number needed depending on age. If it's a classic and hence tax exempt you seem to get a bit more of a serious looking at to check it's legit, and getting the relevant owners' club involved seems to be the easiest route as they tend to get the job of vetting them eventually for validity anyway (this is now official policy). Otherwise it just means normal road rules (e.g. MOT if necessary) apply.

Call dvla and ask for the forms, just explain ou need to register a tractor under agricultural for the first time, they will then send out the right forms.

You fill them in with what it is so example Massey ferguson 135 2wd and the chassis number and engine numbers etc. also explaining what it is for, so it would be an agricultural tractor.

You might get a visit from the D of T or dvla to check the numbers against the forms, but only heard of one person who had to take a quad up to the centre and that's all they done, worried you might be trying to pull a fast one on registering.

Other than the forms it's really easy to do. You may get the forms sent back with a note if you have done something wrong.

As agg221 says, contact a tractor club. Classic tractor magazine once had contact details of various people that sort this. They also can get age related plates on old plate e.g ARB21.
