Think the above comment might be very true. But why mulch timber like that when it could be used for something more useful!!

Speed! If you have a motorway to build or 100 houses, every minute counts from start to finish for profit! That's also just an example of what it can do, that machine may spend the rest of its life clearing gorse:001_smile:

I came across a similar one about 2 weeks ago. They are clearing a line from bordeaux to paris ready for the new TGV line. 1000's of woods been destroyed. A bottle of Ricard managed to get us 2 afternoons of free acacia and oak before they needed to carry on with there task. Awesome machine though.

As Steve said - it was merely a demonstration to show what the machine was capable of , lets be honest who would look at spending those sorts of money on a machine of that size when they have only seen it mulching through a bit of Gorse ?

Often it is more cost effective for the client to have timber of this size mulched rather than the cost and time of harvesting what may oly be 30-40 trees of this size on a 100 acre site . i certainly dont know many contractors thatwould clear their own tracks into a huge/ long site so that they can pick out a a couple timber trailer loads of firewood !!
