:confused1::confused1::confused1:i was checking all the new posts this morning and have noticed a rise in smart a**** answer,s to wrong questions asked!! its shame really as some questions are very good but smart answers spoil it

or have i got it all wrong and its just banter etc and nothing to do with the right answer just mates being mates etc i get confused at times with the wrong answer to the question being asked etc

eg move the road n ramp answer to the tree question gets my wires crossed at times lol gets me all confused as a learner reading up on this forum as my heads a sponge at the moment

Hi predator, ive just been through numerous of todays posts and struggling to find what you mean. There does tend to be some banter between people as they become familiar with each others ways, hopefully this helps to make the forum a vibrant and lively place the people wish to attend.

You don't know who knows who and who's mates with who, some of my answers can come across as borderline until the reader realises I am best buddies with the recipient.

Most of what you read is banter, we have a lot of get togethers and nights out at shows and stuff, so many on here are good friends

Compared to some sites I am a member of here in the States ArbTalk is great. The amount of trash talk and poor language I encounter makes me wonder if the mods on these sites are permenately out to lunch. I guess to a point it is the mentality here as well, nearly Neanderthal at times by some posters. Count your blessings. Of couse for some comic relief you could just Google some sites here state side if you want a good laugh or Two.

Try getting a straight answer on a forum like Landyzone. Nothing but smart**** comments on there! Only banter on here from where I'm sat...

I can second that one. That site is no help whatsoever. I prefer arbtalk as the replies are sometimes comical to me. Puts a smile on my face some days.

You want smart answers you wanna try the British Farming forum, either that or its comments over a picture someone has posted profising that a different colour tractor wouldn't have fallen foul like the one in the picture or such like. That puts you at the top of the pleb list in my books!

Think its just banter on here, they'll always be some smart arse answers, thats human nature we deal with them in life all the time and probably never bat an eye lid at it!

im registered with about 6 forums and on 1 or 2 of them you can get some propa abuse but thats usually because you have asked a real stupid question like "why do we use chainsaw ppe" ? or "can i drink petrol cos it smells nice" ? arbtalk isn't to bad but at the end of the day its the people at the top who need to keep an eye on things.

I don't do many forums at all, but I was fairly disgusted by some of the pornographic comments, links, etc posted on a car forum! I'm no prude, but I cannot see the point of that in an open forum which can be viewed by all. Well done to the Moderators for keeping that lid on....and well done to the majority of members for abiding by the rules and keeping it sensible.

I don't do the Facebook thing or twitter etc for that reason too. I'm not interested that "so and so" is walking his dog at dinner time or what "this persons" toilet habits are, or how drunk "This twit" got on saturday night! Am I odd or just too sensible?
