Ford 4610 4x4 not engaging??

The 4x4 on my 4610 wont engage, when you pull up the lever its loose and on closer inspection it just slides around the mechanism underneath.

 

Should there be a pin that has come out?

 

If any body has a parts list or workshop manual they could email across i would be very gratefull :001_smile:

That looks like a simple roll pin. if someone puts too much enthusiasm in it snaps to save more damage. I noticed happy halfords sell kits of them for about a tenner roll pins for life and you can buy them at the week end. You should be able to tap it out with a similar size rod ( if it is a roll pin hard to see from pic )

there has to be be some way of fixing the leaver too the shaft, and the shaft look likes it is installed from inside the gear box, and if it is not rotating but the leaver moves, then i would say yes if the hole goes all the way thrue the leaver, you may find that the shaft has rotated so not lining up.
