PTO chipper recommendations...

Recommended Posts

What's your turn around time to loose chip and wood ?

You don't have a huge chip box, so chipping 10" and heading off for an hour or so may not be efficient? So go 7-8" and trailer or other vehicle for timber.

Chipping and leaving on site, then bigger the better?

what ever way you choose you can work the site to suit the kit efficiently as possible if you are good. If you know you have a long turn around, thump the brash down, bomb the heavy, roll it off. Drag and chip and leave the boys to cut n carry timber.

If you are very busy split the teams to suit.

speak to Stan ( woodmad) and get the front mount ducker and trailer hiab with remote crane.

Your Mog was buttons, for under £40k you will have an AWESOME set up, the other kit will sit idle.

You will skip to work mate.

Im in two minds to keep the canter and timberwolf road tow and have the mog as an extra or sell canter and timberwolf and buy good pto chipper with timber trailer with hi-ab

Whats your thoughts mate

:confused1: Really, I thought the fact that the canter is overloaded most of the time was the whole reason for buying the mog???

Your other kits cracking, I don't know your work radius, your team or you.

The Mog with out Hiab is just a mobile chipper, it is the branch clearing machine.

It will break down, everything does. A simple hole in a plastic air pipe can ground you for hours . Don't put all your eggs in the 1 basket.

Stick the cheap ducker chipper on the front, put £5k in a Mog maintenance bank account, and every month throw a grand in.

The mog will compliment your kit.

It was but, i dont want to be grounded without a vehicle to jobs if and when the mog breaks down and if i use mog 50% and canter 50% then the mog has 50% more work in her before she breaks down

Don't look at it as a ticking time bomb, it's just if a Mog breaks down you can't just tow it home with a Hilux.

The canter will be good for shifting logs and small jobs.

See how it all works out over the next 3 month, you will of had 90 days of experience, be wiser and know yourself.
