So am i rite in thinking if my van is classed at 3.5 ton, is this the maximum train weight?

 

Nope,look on your plate & it will tell you the train weight,axle weights,(front & back),GVW is the gross weight of vehicle & contents,excluding trailer.

Chris my D/C Tansit is 3500kg gross, with a max train weight of 5750kg, which basically means I can tow 2250kg (as long as I don't screw the axle loadings up (which from memory are about 1600kg front and 2450kg rear).

 

And no, this doesn't mean you can tow a Halfords trailer with one log in it and have the truck weighing 5.6t!:001_tongue:
