Anyone use it? Due to some of my kit being over 5 years old it is now requiring replacement:mad1: It seems a waste to chuck a perfectly good harness and two ropes, anyway my local dealer has an offer on gecko and i wonder what its like. The ropes will be used by my employee and he prefers a fatter rope, the two retireing ropes are xtc and have been excellent so if its similar to that it'll do.

As for the harness he quite likes the skylotec kholibri, any thoughts on that?

Any comments much appreciated.

Loathe it with a passion, one of the worst arb ropes I'v ever used. Bouncy, fat, fluffy, heavy, and it has a silly sticky slippy coating that is truly horrible in the wet. Had some once, gave it away.

Did I mention i dont like it much?

If you like your tachyon you will hate it.

TBH Peter, the xtc its replacing was bouncy and heavy and I much prefer my Tachyon to that, however this rope is'nt for me its for Andy who works for me and he prefers the xtc to thinner lines like the tachyon. So all that interests me as I will have to buy both it and its eventual replacement is, does it wear well?

MArlow gecko is one of the worst but then marlow made the T12 (or T16) whatever it was thee worst rope ever. It was given as first prize in a climbing comp but was handed back, next year it was second prize and handed back, its probably tieing down some leylandii on a transit somewhere now.
