I think all the corvids are great. I know a lot hate them but they are very intelligent. My next door neighbour farmer uses a Larson cage for them and has asked me to shoot them but no way

The fact that they are extremely intelligent is what makes farmers hate them, I’ve seen a pair of ravens at a lambing ewe, one bouncing in front of ewes face to distract her while the other is taking the tongue out of the protruding lamb at her back end, and also put a hole in her udder for good measure, bastards, but such is nature.

Saw two of these in a tree today, beautiful. Always amuses me to see something big high up in a tree. One came down to pose

Couple of years ago I did a lot of work for a farm partnership, the estate their office was on had them and the hen would hang around me a lot in the yard chipping. When it called out it put me in mind of dinosaurs, gave the dog the fear as well, he avoided it like life depended on it!

I agree, they're certainly impressive birds. I've always harboured the idea that it would be cool to have a pet raven. Can't be many pets that are as long lived.
They've also got some very unpleasant character traits though. The pair of jays that we had nesting in nextdoor's tree were terrorising the goldfish, and we're pretty sure a missing one was a victim of theirs. The Mrs is not happy!

Got about 6 - 8 at our local council tip, been there breeding for years, ignorant sods they are! They come and stand in front of your car and put a parade on for all to see but wont bloody move for ya!!! Comical they are! [emoji23]
