Anyone have any idea who this belonged to?

I found it on top of one of our wood piles, just under the corrugated plastic roof. It's beautifully constructed. I guess robin or blackbird.

Almost certainly Blackbird. They don’t re use the nest but will strip it off materials for the next broods nest.

I thoroughly recommend this book, it’s a thing of beauty and incredibly detailed in its information

Thank you. That answers my question. So even if they don't reuse the nest there's still mileage in leaving the old one, in case they want to recycle it. They're always in the garden so probably keen to nest here or nearby.

That does look like a nice book.

Starlings are intriguing to watch, their hot food arrives, without fail, impaled in the radiators of  cars arriving in the car park, if lucky the occupants also leave tasty additional snacks, not to mention tonnes of nearby fast food containers
