Picked up my first Landy, already got a pto on it but nothing to attach to it, was thinking hydraulic motor, then it leaves me open to options, winch, splitter etc. it's got a canvas on at the mo, was thinking hard top, still want to use for other things, fitting a winch and ball hitch on the front.

Any ideas what I can fit onto her to make her a good logging truck?

Oh and a diesel engine to replace the petrol one.

Get some pics up lets have a look at her! I've looked at few 109 pickups I thought could be handy for work but compared to more modern stuff think you may struggle for parts when they break? What year is she?:thumbup1

Think maybe the old 2.5 na may fit in yours not too sure about mounts tho.

1968, really is a good runner, and no rust. Attracted to her coz she is tax exempt, and she would run in woodland dragging timber all day, so if dent or break panels, bodywork etc it won't be with a nice shiny defender.

Parts are ok to find, there is quite a few places to get them from and I like landys as its simple engineering.

Pics will follow tomoz as its raining and I have man flu. So don't want to go out and take pics today. Plus my roast is nearly done. Yum

My series 1 is used in the woods, all parts for the 2 are readily avaliable like boxes, diffs etc and loads of parts places cheap so a tax free cheap runner! i have a pto winch on mine....awesome and i have fitted a 200tdi. have fun with her! You could get a harvey frost crane for skidding...... Anyway heres mine for inspiration! You will be surprised how good they are off road but look out for stumps, maybe fit some bigger tyres for more clearance, 235s, i may even go for 825s or 9.00s....:blushing:

This was saturday.
