funding for self employed

hi guys been offered a job but i will need to go self employed just wondering if their is any funding available and what steps i have to take to go self employed

funding for what? Training? To set yourself up? To buy ppe? You may get funding for training if you've come from the Armed Forces, if you're part of a large redundancy, if you've been unemployed long term and it's part of a back to work scheme, other than that I can't think of any help, but I am out of touch. Surely if you're offered a job with one company, it should be on the books? Contact you local HMRCE for free advice on being seLf employed, they really are very helpful, and will tell you facts rather than hearsay.

You havn't been offered a job then. You've been offered a chance to be a subcontractor.

 

Funding wise, I don't think there is any... Unless your under 25 or something and can get princess trust funding.

 

As far as what you need to do, well that depends on how you want to set yourself up. I'm guessing your going to be a sole trader. If that's the case you need to notify HMRC and start paying self employed national insurance. That's it. Unless you are planning on doing your own jobs and employ people.

my funding is true grit, hard work and determination, ive started off small and at weekends with a good ol christmas family circle biscuit tub... its all sealed and became my new savings jar, be it tip money or private work, once tax etc is paid, all goes in there then when the time is right what i have in there is anybodys guess... thats my funding...
