New vehicle

I'm looking to get a new truck this year later on and wanting some ideas for vehicles. Currently have a iveco 35c14 agile. It's been great for years but always worried about the weight limits and therefore the wear and tear on the van. I past my driving test in 97 just 4 months after they changed the class limits so contemplating getting a c1 test under the belt.

What options are there for durable vehicles other than transits or ivecos with current licence? What are the pros and cons with uni mogs? Can you drive them on none c1 licences? Are they reliable? Expensive to repair?

I also like the look of the izuzu trucks maybe a 5t truck?

Hiya Cts I've read a few posts saying you really have to have the work for a Mog and be fairly mechanicly minded. I know Mercedes do the 6 series trucks which are around 5 ton also have you looked into tachos and inspections for a C1 licence?

I agree, as much as I love them, you will not only need enough work for a mog but you need the right kind of work too, Im sure others will differ, Depends on what your main type of work is?

Yea I think a mog won't get used as much I think it will. Mainly residential and commercial work without the need really to go too many times off road. I could get the iveco updated but don't like the though of the auto gear box packing in. Just now van is in getting repaired with ALOT of work done to it so looking to get that money back and a wee bit More and sell latr in the year. Anyone used a izuzu?

lads ive climbed with have an isuzu grafter 3.5tonne on a 59 plate...very very thirsty,and with the chip box and tools plus chipper,carry absolutly sod all payload wise.im thinking same as you to upgrade but im now thinking of just adding another 3.5tonne tranny tipper to the fleet as an awful lot of our work is residential/restricted access,additional vehicle will take the burden off your iveco,and always leave you for somthing to use wwhen you are servicing one or the other.

mogs are great if you are offroad/large jobs the majority of your time,but access and size/weight are issues in most domestic situations,plus can the running costs be justified if you are on alot of smaller domestic jobs?
