It may not be the case here, but its worth noting that many manufacturers will not support warranty if the sale was made outside of their on-line sales policy, i.e without the proper handover.

Another disadvantage to buying on-line.

As I said, this may not be the case here, but it is another reason why dealers are reluctant to take on warranty from equipment they have not sold.

Not that it matters, but 08448444567 is the main public switchboard, you will need to ask for the warranty dept by pressing the relevant number that the mechanised lady gives you.

Yes, sorry you are correct re the telephone number. That number did used to be a dedicated dealer line, but since everything moved from Stonehouse to Newton Aycliffe a couple of years ago it would appear they have adopted that number for the main switchboard. oops!

The official Husqvarna dealer should never have sold it to you on-line without qualifying you first and submitting the relevant registration parperwork to Husky head office.

To sell Husky product on-line you need to be already known to the dealer.

If the dealer simply shipped one out to you without going through the necessary proceedures then the dealer should be reported to Husqvarna as this is in breach of Huskys on-line policy.

If, however, you were known, and qualified by the dealer before your purchase and the dealer has submitted your warranty registration then that is no different to simply buying it face to face from another Husky dealer and the warranty should still be honoured by other authorised dealers.

Absolutely, phone up husqvarna and see what they say. Your saw should have been put together and tested before it was shipped to you. It also should have been shipped set up and ready to go, minus the liquids needed to run it. My Husqvarna's where shipped this way. Dealer should also have registered them for you, activating your warranty.

Re my problem on the old saw (not Husqvarna), I was just offering a possible cause or problem. Check your bar by laying it on a flat surface to see if it has warped any, mine was touching both ends but the middle was off the surface by a good 5mm. The chain links were stiff also, due to the heat generated i guess.

Hope you get it sorted.

Hi, going back to my question about my 236, I contacted their customer services to enquire about distortion of the oilway and they denied there had been any problem. :confused1: Can anyone enlighten me further as to how to manage to get my hands on the improved oilway bit? :001_smile:

I must admit that I was sent mine by my wholesaler, as I am not a direct Huskie dealer, so I got the info secondhand, so to speak.

However, it did solve the problem.

As I recall, it was only the models with bar nuts, as opposedto the quick tensioner, as they could be done up too tight.

Evidence of over torqueing could be seen around the base of the bar studs, you could see the plastic heaving where the stud was trying to pull out of the body. The metal shim plate was also distorted.

If I ran the saw with a slack bar ( be very very carefull ) the oiler worked, tighten it up and it stopped as the channel colpased in on itself.
