Coppice near Bristol

Recommended Posts

Now then all,

Are there any Coppice workers around Bristol on here? I've Just started working In the Bristol area and would like to work with someone practicing sustainable forestry. I've read plenty about coppice, walked through many coppiced woodlands and done some Green woodworking and am Visiting Ben Laws house late this month but would really like to work with someone practicing the art.

i started out coppicing Sweet Chesnut for fire wood,i was told cut as low as you can and flat,so you dont give the forwarder punctures, all the 'art' that i was told!now i go as far as stacking brash on it to keep deer from grazing new shoots.

i work the top end of south west,if i get any coppicing will give you a shout

I'm a bit north of bristol, Herefordshire. We work coppice full time and make fencing from it. You are welcome to drop me a PM for a chat. Though it is a bit more industry than art
