Whats the weather like near you?

Recommended Posts

0800 this morning, minus 2 and a beautiful sunrise. Rain on and off, down to minus 5 on Tuesday just as I'm leaving early on for a job 110 kilometres away.

Calmer and cooler outside now, but yesterday was grim. 30mm of rain overnight and into the morning, and very windy with rain almost all the day. Using the rain radar, I managed to squeeze a walk in with my older daughter and not get soaked, but it wasn't particularly pleasant.

I think we're on day 19 of rain now. Last month saw 27 days of rain out of 31. Anyone who tells you that a southern winter is preferable to a Scottish one is having you on. This is horrendous 😄

It's hardest for the kids really. My girls have got tonnes of energy and need to run around and play, but it's always a case of full waterproofs and complete change of clothes when they come back in. We had one morning with a dusting of slushy snow, and they squeeled with delight at the prospect of a snow day but were back inside glued to the stove within 30 minutes, soaked.

Ye Ha!

Bring it on. The rain that is.

Cos me wee pond has finally brimmed!

And in the best place for the overflow.

mth

P.S.

But we had a glorious crisp dry sunny day yesterday.

Snow here. Good inch perhaps and it’s putting it down now. Complete forking inconvenience, and getting on my tits big time! Had a week of solid machine work in, and managed one day. Jobs been called off by client so nowt I can do other than accept it and get the sledge out. Shame sledging doesn’t pay the bills! 🤦🏼‍♂️ We’ve only just got the boy back into nursery and now he is having to stay off again.
