I got called out this saturdy night at

9pm. it was a job for the NHS . A dinosaur of a sycamore has fallen over right across the main entrance to the hospital. Meaning know one could get in or out.

I called one of the guys and headed out to do it.

We arrived there and the area where it has fallen was not lit well. meaning we had to use our LED lights. Also the tree was under severe tension as it was across a large ditch also. ( very dangerous job )

I paid my groudie 3 times normal rate for unsociable Hrs. the job took 6 hrs and we were home by 3.30am.

pricing it i am taking into consideration that is was a very dangerous job with no light..

Any estimates??

Always difficult pricing callout jobs, unless you have a system set up and handed to the client in advance.

Is it a regular client - Ifso keeping a good relationship is vital, if not will there be more work now as a result of the job?

If it's a one off with no prospect of more work then I know others that would take the mick with price...

I would say that I would price it for a normal job, then put extras on top. For instance extra groundie wage plus an extra bonus for yourself - same proportion extra as the groundie compared to your normal wage?

I was goinjg to price it like this.

groundie -£250 £33 an hr

had to drive about 60 miles so i put on £30 for fuel.

And £700 for myself. Over £100 AN HR.

I do not want to rip them off...but dangerous job at 10pm pitch black on a saturday night...already knacked from climbing for 9 hrs..i want a decent payout.

MY EMERGENCY RATES:

Time starts from when we leave yard, Price + VAT. We also normally would only make safe during the night and clear up the next day.

Anti-social hours (after 5pm and Sundays) £250 for first hour then £95 per hour

Within normal work hours - £150 for first hour then £75 per hour

3 and 4 Man Team add per man

Within normal work hours + £20 per hour
