I have just switched from the old prussic to hitchclimber which is quality but it takes some getting use to.

Just wanted to ask does it matter if you throw your rope over a branch is it right to left or other way if that makes sense? Or does it not matter and I'm just being thick!!! :blushing:

Doesn't matter really unless you have some preference to which way you like to do a change over.

Should be through a rope guide (or similar) not over a branch. But the spliced end attaches in front of the hitch mot left or right of it so, no, it makes no difference but if you are close to the branch then it will twist the hitchclimber one way or the other.

Since you are now no longer hip thrusting, the left or right handed method no longer applies, either hands can be used to pull the rope down towars the HC so again, no, left or right makes no difference.
