For once I knew the answer to something Spud didnt,but I couldnt get to the bottom of the page fasr enough to tell you Clinton.Just to show my age I used one of these in my teens to cut logs for beer money at the weekends.Loved the zoom exhaust.:thumbup1:

Them were the days, still better than a two man cross cut but my hands hurt just thinking about them old says. Have you seen the book (hard back) on chain saws, its American and cant think of the title or author but can look later. Some good old saws in there, books a bit big for bed time reading and would get too excited anyway with all that two stroke oil & fumes.

Here's one thats not a saw.

I had a garden tractor in with a 22hp engine which was revving its nuts off, and would not shut down. It was a bit scary, I reckon it was doing about 8000 revs rather than the stated 3400.

Investigation revealed the governor weights had broken free of their carrier. All fixed now but no idea what caused it.
