Just why the sudden drop in points from 8 to 5 in similar european competitions? And then the FA cup should surely be worth more the amount of teams involved.

Think the system was a bais creation from a liverpool supporter :sneaky2::001_rolleyes:

I'm sure if I had the time I could easily change the points system to favour man utd:biggrin:

Sent from Rob's GalaxySII

Imagine it's down to quantity & quality of opposition (Barca, Madrid, Inter etc.....) in attaining one of the big Euro cups as opposed to beating low leaguers (Port Vale, Wigan, Everton .....eg) in the FA cup.

Anyone listen to Stan Collymores top 15 English Teams last night on TalkSport?

Based on points alloted for trophies won

10 points for Champions League/European Cup win (the pinnacle)

9 points for a top level League Title win

8 points for a UEFA Cup win (not Europa League)

5 points for a European Cup Winners Cup win

4 points for an FA Cup win

2 points for a Carling Cup win

The top fifteen in order were......

1 Liverpool 278 points

2 Man United 258

3 Arsenal 170

4 Villa 111

5 Everton 106

6 Spurs 79

7 Chelsea 78

8 Newcastle 68

9 Sunderland 62

10 Blackburn 53

11 Sheffield Wednesday

12 Leeds United

13 Joint Wolves & Man City

15 Nottingham Forest

Fuel for debate here methinks

I suppose its a way that liverpool fans (or plastic scousers) can make themselves feel better. Is there any other point to this?

The fact remains that Liverpool are a club in terminal decline left behind by Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, United and even Spurs.

35million for Carroll? Newcastle must be wetting themselves!

Ps Arsenal fan.

Arsenal, having a bad start to the season, granted. But there's one fact that everyone forgets, arsenal are the only team who have never been relegated!

That's true, however you do have to be associated with possibly the most annoying and infuriating person on the planet ! Mr Wenger :sneaky2:
