brand new rope!!!!

got my new 11mm rope out today which this was the first climb and ended up cutting it about 3ft below my prussic as the brash whiped my rope up!!!!!! im soo gutted, was exactly in the middle too!!!! ive not cut a single rope in 5 years and when i become a subbie i first spike my old rope then cut my new one!!!!

soo fustrating some times!!!

life sucks then you cut your rope a mate of mine cut 3 in 6 weeks then none for 5 years and all down to wind or caught in branches

 

i once had to extend my climbing rope with my short rope which ended going into chipper with prussick and 2 crabs going through before it stalled chipper as it started to pull me out of tree

and yes it was new too

why is it also you only cut yourself with a new silky blade

 

On a serious note how many other climbers have put a old bit of rope into climbing system then with feet just off the ground cut rope with there silky you will be amazed

silky blades are just mean criters, once they get blunter they just dont wanna know

always the way mate ,ive done the same with ropes and new saw trousers........worn out stuff it never happens to!

i recon its because you try to be carefull and not damage your expensive kit.... but fail miserably!!

well i managed to smash out the second rear window whilst tipping up last night in 2 months then burnt a hole in my new thermal sweater i was wearing as it was so cold with out a window driving to the job with a hedge cutter this morn!

the rope thro the chipper, ha ha that suck. new silkies are sooo sharp, i never use one without gloves.
