yeh true there are miles and miles of vineyards which started to wind me up. alot of the work we did was shelterbelts. the company covers the whole of the marlborough region so we had some work out on the sounds which was amazing. outrageously beautiful. we had a contract with the council to maintain the street and park trees. plus lots of residential work.

nah atree i just spent 8 months working over there. loved every minute.

david james!havent heard that name in a while he was a asessor for a few of my certs,flew up just for a couple of days,seemed like a good bloke ,although he said the pay wasnt as good as in nth island,but was keen to get anyone on board.

im not sure how old this thread is but im assuming it isnt that old to write here, im in south australia at the moment and wanting to move to nz and have tried to mail companies over there but have had no replies, im wondering if the links im using are old or something. if anyone has any phone numbers or emails id be gratefull. cheers

Highly recommended as a life experience. a lot of us have been out there as too many others nationalities. They know how to keep you down wage wise, never the less fantastic place. Join ISA, try Treescape I think still the largest company out there.

Anyone know what the sub contracting scene is like in Christchurch? not worked in the industry back home and was just wandering if contract climbers are used much?

 

Non exsistant i think,(hollands does a bit)

the money can be gd if your gd they dont mind paying a gd wage if they know your a gd arborist but it takes a wee while to find ya feet unless you know someone in the know.its the lifestyle that you cant put price on
