I emigrated to NZ 2 years ago, back in UK for a bit as can make more money here to buy a bit of a scratch of land out there eventually.

I agree with most of the above, all good advice.

If yer just goin for a visit, what the hell fill yer boots, aye!!.

If you want to emigrate I'm happy to help people with what I've learned about the process.

You'll need to line up a job to get enough points, most likely, specially if your'e older and lose points on the age thing. I lined one up thru the ISA.

email the NZ chapter and they'll put you in touch. That said, my job didn't work out too well, and I was stuck with it for 3 months (Section 18a visa reasons). After 3 months your'e free and can do what ya like.

Hey there, this is my first post on this site. I'm a Tree climber from the U.S. and I'm heading to New Zealand from the end of November to middle of January and was wondering if I might be able to meet and watch some of you work while I'm there. I've been doing tree work for the last 8yrs and spike and spikeless climbing for the last four, chasing hurricanes and ice storms, lots of hazardous take down work. I'd be willing to work some too, but I'm not sure of your visa or certificate requirements. But, I really appreciate the opportunity to learn from professionals wherever I am. Also interested in recreational tree climbing while I'm there. Any info on where to go and what to do while down there would be appreciated.

thanks

Rec climbing is a bit of a no no at the moment (in the kauris at least) due to phytophera being spread to all the famous trees. apart from that its sweet as:001_smile:
