I don't agree with you there mate.Brittish make up the bulk of Arborists that immigrate to NZ.As a rule they don't have the experiance in large tree removals that commands top dollar.

 

Reduction and thinning as you know it in the UK are a very small part of the Tree industry in New Zealand.

 

Head out there and have a look by all means,the style of work changes slightly from one City or Island to the next.

 

If you have your HGV then you will be along way ahead as much of the kit is bigger than in the UK.

as i said english climbers are sought after for lots of reasons.HGV is one of them but ive heard it from the horses mouth quite a few times.theirs plenty of reduction work out their in selected areas and companies.

if your a gd arborist you will be paid accordingly.

worked out in nz 5 years ago now what you will get is live linnes running through the trees in the older parts of auckland spiders from aus called whitetips nasty little buggers my mate spent 3 days in hospital and he was a kiwi ketp my gloves on from then on the money 15_28$ ph the average is20$ the work a long day much longer than we do and only get 15 days leave a year but the do get a few days more for bank hols if yur looking for work look for treescape or asplunds or look on nz web sites best of luck

Good Luck..Look at Atrees avatar, typical blue sky day down under and that is in the South Island.

Bring your sun screen, it's pretty harsh down here and not good on you pommy fellas, we will have you looking like a local before too long though.

Great time to be coming over..Enjoy the 24 hour flight.
