Beech very well decayed remains of a butt riddled with G. pfiefferi, went back for a better shot with a tripod, here @ ISO80 and F8:thumbup:

 

and a first for Inonotus cuticularis on beech within whippendell, tree and fungi recorded today as part of my masive survey i just started.

The exudates are very similar to kretzschmaria deusta, only instinct will help you, time served experience im afraid!

 

its universal.

As partr of my continued organising my epic catalouge of images I cam across this one from back in june 09, the later june 11

Ganoderma, probably lipsiense=applanatum in this wood especialy on deadwood beeches here at whippendell, hence the population of flat foot flies.
