Some of the criticism's wer eunfair... like not recognising tyhe tree with no leaves..it happens but doesn;t make you a cowboy. and dixing up inthe back of the truck, if your wearing full PPE not a problem really...Every tree busness can't have at least £3k+ worth of chipper right from the start can it...so its just anaother way of getting the job done.

However his method's of sellingthe work tot he customers were disgraceful, I can;t believe they took it. As for th epricing if they're stupid enough to accept his crazy quotes they deserve to pay them, its not hard to get a few more quotes in and a good idea, specially if the first is off a pushy scare mongering ***** like that!

Imagine bringing your mum to work with you ! what was he thinking?

Your point being? I haven't seen the video as apparently we can't get it in our area (no idea why not) but I took my Dad out all the time with me. He had steel toe cap boots and hi viz vest and would potter about moving wood and dragging branches. He didn't want paying he just did it to keep fit and spend some time with me. Nowt wrong with that in my opinion as long as he does as he's told so he doesn't put himself in danger.

My Dad does this also from time to time, no harm in it a you say with the right PPE and some guidance.:thumbup1:

Slightly derailing the thread for a minute but I think it's great that you can take the old man out to show him what you do. I spent ages during the school holidays at my Dad's garage and now he likes to come out and spend time with me. The more time I can spend with my old man the better.

I found parts of that very hard to watch. You can say what you like about that chap's quality of work, precaution regarding PPE and lack of basic arboricultural knowledge, but what it effectively boils down to is that he is a conman. How he can possibly sleep at night knowing he has fleeced a pensioner for £3000 is beyond me.

Is anyone in the Banbury area that can go finish that hedge off for her?

Maybe you should watch the vid before criticising my post, the old dear must have been in her early sixties and she was dandering around under the conifer as he was throwing branches down, no PPE whatsoever. If this guy needs help he should hire a competent groundie on a part time casual basis, not use his mum.

On another point, its a bit different to compare your mum helping you to your dad. I have also had my dad help me out on a few jobs when i was starting out, but tree work is not a womans job, certainly not an elderley womans job!
