Anyone got a old stihl 051??

Hi guys i no this saw is old, 1972 lol but its my grandads pride and joy its mint and he has had it for years... and the flywheel starter ring metal cup has gone on it. Any one got one sitting about or no of somewhere to get one... big ask i no, thanks guys callum.

Hi Callum, afraid these are tricky to get - fortunately that wasn't what was wrong with mine in the end. The only option I found was in the US. You have to go to ebay.com (rather than .co.uk) and log in using your usual ID. You can then find item number 220771325456 which ships worldwide.

thanks alec yer i have seen them on ebay cheers, but grandads quite impaitent and i imagin it would take some time for it to be delivered from usa but if all else fails he will have to wait after all rome werent built in a day :-) cheers

I've had stuff ship from the US within 7 days - some take two weeks but generally one week - pretty good really!

Don't forget it's low value - likely to fall below Customs' radar, even with the shipping. That's the thing that really holds items up.

the 051 was a brute of a saw, powerfull and reliable, probably one of the best stihl ever made IMO

i have an 075 i keep for spares, i dont know if the bits you need are the same?? i run an 051 and an 076 regularly, proper saws!!! if not they do come up on fleabay often
