best example ive seen, was on a ash that was still in great health on a massive parkland estate(burhley house, stamford, lincs)

the picture with my mates head in the shot was massive as you can see

i blame monkey d for all this!!!!

just waiting for COTW to pop up, only ever seen one befor!!!!!

my missus thinks im a fruit loop

 

Me thinks thou must wait for next year for your Laetiporous spotting.

 

Usual fruiting early June to mid July.

 

There was an almighty epidemic of it around my neck of the woods this year.

Counted it on at least eight different species. :ohmy:

Not a great advocate of picking fungi.

 

Having said this, I would like to give Cotw's a nibble though. :blushing:

 

 

 

It's quite often, along with Pleurotus ostreatus ( Oyster)

picked by local chefs and amatuer gastros round these here parts. :eating:

It would appear I have misinformed you as to the fruiting season.

Aie suggest late spring early summer.

Yet today spotted on two salix.

 

The first two pics very fresh but destroyed by some gastro vandal, the third pic is older but probably after the originaly stated time.
