Can you educate a wannabe mog owner:

 

how do mog model numbers work? eg. whats the difference between a u1000 and a u1600 etc?

 

whats the ideal model (in your opinion) for arbwork with a front mount chipper and tipper, and towing a grain trailer for instance??

best Mogs for Arb are u1600's then u1650 with a hiab on the rear.

 

even numbers are small width chasis from u1000-u1600, add a 50 and they are 50cm longer, add a 50L and they are 1m longer.

 

Odd numbers from U1100 to u1500 are wider then U1700 to U2450 are wider again.

 

My u1200 was 6 foot 6 wide, my u2150 was 9 feet 6 wide.

 

my u900 fits in my pocket.

 

i might be wrong on some of the above ha ha

A 1964 411 TinyMog I got off fleabay. Work needed on wiring and hydraulics, but seems solid, ex snowblower with low hours. Will use it for fetching & carrying round the wood:

They do indeed rock.

 

im just freshening my 411 up at the moment had some rusty holes in the drivers floor ,

make sure you keep the foot pedals well greased as they can become seized

mine is a u1600 with 550u on front.. i tow a 14 ton grain trailer and sometimes a hook lift trailer with a 40yd bin on back... bit under powered at times but it gets job done.. [i'll put some pics up when i get time]

Heh, sounds about right.

 

Job no.1 is getting electricals and specifically block heater sorted out, it is not an enthusiastic cold starter! User manual recommends 20-40sec heating in warm weather, haven't checked cold weather procedure yet but imagine it involves a flamethrower....

you can do away with the original glow plugs ,westfield 4x4 does a conversion (fast glow plugs as he calls them ) mine starts almost instantly even at its coldest this year

Cheers stevie! i have been searching all over for a guide! is the difference between a u1000 and a u1600 just horsepower then?
