New Stihl strimmers- I didn't think they could improve them so much!

Doobin i have no axe to grind re sthil strimmers. very good machines and to be honest if i had the work which looking at what i do which is fieldpaths footpaths overgrown area then maybe you are right a sthil may be a better choice for the power ratio may get the jobs done quicker as have the grunt that the honda may not have. i find the honda manageable and easy to work with all day. the big sthils may be wrong but could be a heavy beast lugging about all day. you use them am i right or are they ok to use all day. views appreciated

If you're using it 90% of the time in fields and footpaths (ROW contract by any chance?) then you would be doing yourself a favour by demoing a larger strimmer, be it Husky or Stihl. FS90 power levels (which is what the Honda is) is no use at all for that sort of work, and I reckon once you've tried a 3HP machine you'll think the same.

 

Weight is not an issue, the Stihl harness is exceptionally comfy and apparently the Husky one is even better! If you're genuinely using it all day then you will appreciate the anti vibe on the pro models also.

thanks for offer may take you up and give one a go. come down with husky harness. no do not do ROW work as such but footpaths in parishes which are low on list for county to do. did 12 milesl last year. not as much footpath but plenty of strimming.

[/ame] after reading through some old posts relating to Honda brushcutter/strimmers I thought I'd post this, bearing in mind this is an older 22cc unit....impressive stuff.
