rot and feeding

im being lazy but might be benificial to others,

can some one help me with a few answers

what fungi/disease feeds on the lignin and which feed on the cellulose?

which cause brown cubical rot and soft rot?

i know there will be loads but the more common ones:001_cool:

Brown cubicle rot will usually be Laetiporus sulphureus , or more rarely Fistulina hepatica, the beefsteak fungus that occurs commonly in oaks.

That is such vague question as to be unaswerable mate...you might find " Fungal decay stategies in wood" a useful publication by messrs mattheck & co.

ive been reading a bit recently which is a little dangerous, i know certain fungs does certain things, like ganoderma is a heart wood rot fungi, just trying to find out which fungi does what to the wood....
