Hi if you climb a pine tree in early spring and see a white fluffy nest full or brown caterpillars about 4 cm long, give them a wide berth they ll be Thaumetopea Pityocampa (processionery pine caterpillars) they will give you a very nasty burn where ever they come into contact with your skin. It been know for them to kill small children and animals. OH and watch out for tree snakes.

Apart from that you ll be fine:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::lol:

- tis the same genus as O .P . moth - nasty critter! - go for it! Travel broadens the mind and will give you a set of new challenges. Make an effort with the lingo and remeber, you'll be giving people an impression of what British Arborists are like ( and i dont mean show the fact that you can drink all night and still get your spikes on in the morning!)

when it rains it comes without warning and so heavy it floods, its ok though as its usually nice and warm, as said before don't go swimming in the sea unless you are a really good swimmer, me and some mates nearly drowned trying to get past the surf, everytime you come up for air another wave crashes down on you.. hope you have an ace time, don't forget they drive on the wrong side of the road:thumbup1:

Language is difficult , super bock is tasty, south coast is v. scenic, west coast superb surfing big waves, difficult swimming but lots a fun, if you with resident tree surgeons food esp local fish is superb , brilliant dirt track roads just a little inland enjoy it.

Beg to differ...........Super Bock is foul, headache-making stuff, 'Cristal' is much better!

We're based on the Algarve (South) Coast and there's nearly always good waves on the West.
