Its the antiobiotics that make you ill!! I have just taken some for a bad tooth, and it has brought on the worst man flu ever!! I hav enot been ill for nealry two years, then I take some antibiotics and I am ruined!! I get better form one cold and then catch another, its all bad!! WOrkign outside build your imune system, but antibiotics will kill it in no time at all!!

Of course antibiotics are good for infections etc. my tooth is actually better, but they also kill off all the good bacterai that you need to fend off colds etc.

I'm sure you have seent eh adverts for pro-biotic yoghurts and "yakult" (yuk) that are supposed to boost your immune system? Well they are all rubbish, you can get the same (actually better) effect from taking acidophilis tablets. They replace the good bacteria which are destroyed bythe anitbiotics.

Go to to your Holland & Baretts, or nutigen store or maybe pharmacist and get soem acidophilus soon and say NO to anti biotics!!!

Hey Genset, hope you improve soon. I recently had a spell of ab for a chest infection- left things far too late and had pleurisy in three patches and a partially collapsed lung.

Do what the doc says even if it hurts the pocket or you could get worse!

Thanks for the replies I am of to holland and barret when I feel better. I think value natural yogut contains as much friendly bacterior as the yuppie pots but could be wrong. I had shingles a couple of years back and doc gave me a lecture on being 40 and not being able to work 14hrs a day 6 days a week. There always seems a reason, starting a business, bigger mortgage, new birth, recession and so it goes on. I know what I need to do its just getting the time to do it. :thumbup1:

Get some acidophillus tablets!! They contain far more "good bacteria" than any of the yoghurts at a fraction of the price.

for anything thats in your sinuses get some saline nose wash, i had a nose op in august and got a headcold 6 weeks after that, still not recovered fully from that for some reason. I used the saline nose wash, its odd at first as you can feel it running into your sinuses and down your throat and everywhere, but i managed to be completely clear of the crap and stuff from round there in 2 days, did one nostril a day. worked wonders! get it for about £6 from boots, but it lasts ages. its good to use when youve done a day in a dusty place and your full of dust, cleans you right out and its the same salt concentration as your body so it doesnt sting at all, its just a bit cold!
