I've got to do the chip box on my truck and have just read this thread as its still got wooden sides which look tatty. Which one on the list should you use??? It looks much better and lighter than 2 layers of metal.

I use service metals mainly because they have a depot local to me.

I would be reluctant to use eBay for anything that needs delivery I have seen couriers kicking stuff around and I wouldn’t want to chance sheets arriving with bashed corners and scuffs all over them.

Here is a tip, If you have someone local who makes/converts horse boxes they often have “take offs” they want rid of. Not always damage free but you can often get a transit sized chunk out of them. Worth a look at least.

with the weight of that i will get a spoonfull of wood chip in the back need to keep weight down to maximise wood chip:001_tt2:

Most GRP Panels have a solid multi layers plyboard inside!! (GRP on each side of the wooden board) so the weight is often more  than with kiln seasoned Spruce/Pitch Pine.

Look at weights of standard 8' x 4' boards at somewhere like a DIY store/sawmill. If GRP is damaged then water/frost will expand the boards.

A commercial truck breakers is a fine place to source good used boards at a sensible price.:thumbup1:
