Just got the large splitting axe (3 1/2lb head, with 27 inch handle) for £70 including delivery.

 

I have found that to be quite a short handle personally, I'm 6ft 1". You need to tyre (assuming your using something like that) up quite high.

 

I have that and the Gransfor Splitting maul with the 30" handle and find that a much nice length.

 

They do the splitting axe with the longer shaft but I guess it all depends how tall you are!

 

I have a Fiskars for sale if anyone is interested, save you waiting until next year.
